3 Essential Cocktail Syrups
Here are 3 syrups that I keep in my refrigerator. Substitute honey for the sugar or double up on the sugar for a double strength Syrup. Using brown sugar or cane sugar are also good variations. You can use these in lots of cocktails and they are simple to make. Experiment with different juices like Raspberry or Blackberry. Most importantly have fun.
Simple Syrup Recipe:
1 part sugar
1 part hot water
Combine all ingredients in a container. Shake until dissolved. No need to boil.
Grenadine Recipe:
1 part Pomegranate juice from seeds.
1 part sugar
Combine all ingredients in a container. Shake until dissolved. No need to boil.
Ginger Syrup Recipe:
1 part chopped raw ginger (no need to peel)
1 part sugar
1 part boiling water
Combine all ingredients in a blender. Puree until smooth then strain through a fine mesh strainer. Bottle for up to a week.
