The Pegu Club

Named after the British social club in Rangoon, Myanmar and based on a Gin Margarita/Sour. A wonderful bright and lively gin cocktail. I like Cointreau but Triple Sec or Curaçao would also be appropriate. First mentioned in the “Savoy Cocktail Book” from 1930. Make sure it’s cold.

Recipe:

2 oz Gin

3/4 oz Cointreau

1/2 oz lime juice

1 tsp simple syrup

1 dash Angostura bitters

1 dash orange bitters

Garnish: 1 lime wedge

Add all ingredients in a shaker. Add ice and shake until chilled. Strain into chilled coupe glass. Add bitters and garnish with lime wedge.
