Don’t Call Me Shirley

Dry January is Mocktail season. I created this fun riff on a Shirley Temple, with a nod to a Mai Tai using fruit juice and syrups. So much fun to experiment with citrus and ginger. This is a good one.

Recipe:

1 oz Lime Juice

½ oz Pomegranate Juice (I prefer fresh pressed)

½ oz Orgeat Syrup (click for Amazon link)

¼ oz Ginger Syrup (Recipe below)

Add all ingredients in a shaker. Add ice and shake until chilled. Strain into chilled coupe. Garnish.

Ginger Syrup:

1 cup of chopped fresh ginger. No need to peel the skins

1 cup of sugar

1 cup of boiling water

Put all ingredients in a blender and combine till smooth. Strain through a fine mesh or a nut bag. Store in the refridgerator.
